Childhood & early connection to nature

I grew up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia, where much of my childhood was spent exploring beaches, rock pools, and headlands.

As a teenager, I spent time at my family’s property in the Hunter Valley, immersed in bushland, waterways, and open landscapes. These early experiences shaped a lifelong connection to nature that continues to influence my work today.

It was also during this time that I met my husband, Simon, with whom I later built a life in Queensland.

Life, family & place

After living in both coastal and rural environments, we eventually settled in Maleny, in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland — a place that holds both the stillness of the country and proximity to the coast.

We have lived in the same home here for over twenty five years, where we raised our son, Darcy, and I continued to develop my creative practice.

Art practice & creative path

My creative life has always moved between painting and textiles, with a practice shaped by both traditional and experimental approaches.

My work is influenced by a deep reverence for nature and often explores its more ethereal and otherworldly qualities — aiming to evoke a sense of presence, reflection, and quiet imagination.

Enchanted by Nature

During the COVID period, I returned more deeply to my creative practice and reconnected with my art in a more intentional way.

From this time, Enchanted by Nature emerged as my creative practice — a space where I explore painting and textiles inspired by the natural world.

Wattle Bloom Art Therapy

Wattle Bloom Art Therapy is the therapeutic branch of my practice, developed after completing my training in transpersonal art therapy.

It brings together art and nature-based approaches to support emotional wellbeing, self-expression, and personal reflection.
